NBA Finals Prediction

As of yesterday, ESPN has the Warriors with a 65.2% chance of winning the NBA Championship. 65.2%, really!?!?! No offense to the Warriors, they’re a great team and I’m pulling for them to win, but they’re going against the best player in the NBA and a supporting cast that has been playing out of their mind in the playoffs. I give the  Warriors and Cavs an even 50% chance of winning the title.

Ever since Lebron gave up his mercenary ways and went back home to Cleveland, he’s been on a mission to prove that he can win the title without two other stars helping him. I think Kyrie Irving is still too inconsistent to be on the same level as Dwayne Wade and unfortunately Lebron has seemed to exile Kevin Love to occasion spot up 3 duty, (and he’s injured so he’s a non-factor now anyways). With that said, Lebron is actually leading this team instead of just making it about him, and it doesn’t seem like he’s allowing anyone to get in his way.

The only chance the Warriors have is to let Draymond Green harass Lebron until he gets himself into foul trouble on the defensive end, and then directly attack Lebron on the offensive end to get the blocking fouls (or possibly make fun of his receding hair line). Curry can handle Irving and Dellavedova (assuming he doesn’t take out Curry like he has others in the playoffs), and Iguodala can handle JR Smith. The only way the Warriors win is by keeping Lebron off the floor. Cavs win it in 7 games and Lebron wins Finals MVP.
